The IISC institute is provides a center of Sophisticated Instruments Facility this is a NMR Research Centre. The Sophisticated Instruments Facility was established in 1977 by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This center is initially coming under the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) programme, with Indian Institute of Science, Raman Research Institute, National Aeronautical Laboratory, all in Bangalore and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Bombay as the participating institutions.
