Structure:

The Practical Training Cell, IIT Bombay (PT Cell) comprises of Internship Coordinators (ICs) and a Head of the PT Cell working directly under Dean - Academic Program and General Secretary Academic Affairs.

Its team strives for effectively striking a match between recruiter/researcher expectations and student aspirations.

The Companies, Universities and NGOs are encouraged to contact the PT Cell for initial discussions and for confirming all schedules and all official communication.


Working:

To support the internship process, the PT Cell has an effective online system in place.

The procedure for internships follows the following plan:
1. The PT Cell sends invitations to companies and organizations along with relevant information.
2. Organisations can fill the IAF (Internship Announcement Form) online or can email it to PT Cell, IIT Bombay.
3. If the company/organization is willing to conduct a Pre-Internship Talk (PIT) can send a request along with the preferred dates.
4. IAF with relevant details is made available to students. Interested and eligible students show the willingness by signing its IAF online.
5. Companies/Organisations/Universities can view resumes of interested students and short- list students using the online account or sent via email.
6. Recruitment Procedure includes Statement of Purpose, Group Discussions, and Telephonic/Personal Interview.
7. Final offers must be produced at the earliest after the completion of internship procedure.
