Hi I want to know that does the Steel Authority of India Limited SAIL is involved in the Corporate Social Responsibility CSR activities so I can have an idea for the same???

Well the Steel Authority of India Limited is one of the largest state-owned steel making company based in New Delhi, India and one of the top steel makers in world. Yes the SAIL is involved in the CSR activities which it endeavours to fulfill through diversified initiatives and activities under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). For SAIL, CSR is an integral part of its operations ever since the establishment of its production units in remote locations of the country since the early 1950s. Recognization for the CSR include the SKOCH Financial Inclusion Award-2012 for Women Empowerment , India Shining Star CSR Award-2010 by Wockhardt Foundation in the Iron & Steel category, SCOPE Meritorious Award for Corporate Social Responsibility & Responsiveness for the year 2008-09, Golden Peacock Award – 2008, 2009 & 2008-09 for CSR to Bhilai Steel Plant , CSR Award of Tamil Nadu Government to Salem Steel Plant for the consecutive years 2007-08 and 2008-09, etc. (PIB Feature.) SAIL Units Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in Odisha set up with German collaboration (The first integrated steel plant in the Public Sector in India, 1959) Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in Chhattisgarh set up with Soviet collaboration (1959) Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) at Durgapur, West Bengal set up with British collaboration (1965) Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) in Jharkhand (1965) set up with Soviet collaboration (The Plant is hailed as the country’s first Swadeshi steel plant, built with maximum indigenous content in terms of equipment, material and know-how) IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) at Burnpur in Asansol, West Bengal
