I am interested in the field of teaching and planning to apply for the CSIR UGC National Eligibility Test want exam details. Can you please tell what the important dates for doing registration for exam so that I can apply for this exam on time along with eligibility to apply?

CSIR is going to conduct the Joint CSIR UGC National Eligibility Test in December 2016 (Tentative), in order to provide the Junior Research Fellowship to all the qualified candidates. Important dates for registration: Online application process starts from 16th August 2016 Date of close of deposit of fees (all stations) 8th September 2016 Date of close of online submission 9th September 2016 Last date of receipt of duly completed hard copy of online application in the examination unit 16th September 2016 Last date of receipt of duly completed hard copy of online application in the examination unit (from remote areas) 23rd September 2016 Last date for receipt of written request for change of examination centre only on merit basis 14th October 2016 Tentative date of publication of list of candidates registered for test on CSIR HRDG website 15th November 2016 Last date for accepting of representation about non-registration for this test 22nd November 2016 Exam Date (CSIR UGC NET December 2016) 18th December 2016 Subjects of the Test Chemical Sciences Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences Life Sciences Mathematical Sciences Physical Sciences Eligibility Criteria Candidates must have done 4 year program (B.Tech, B.E, B.Pharma, MBBS, M.Sc) with at least 55 % from a recognized university. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of M.Sc or have done 10+2+3 years, they can apply for it. Candidates who have bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or in any other discipline, they are also eligible for it. Age Limit – For JRF (NET)- Candidate’s age should not be more than 28 years as on 1st January 2015. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rule. Examination Pattern There will be total 5 subjects in the CSIR UGC NET 2016- Mathematical Sciences, Atmospheric, Earth, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Chemical Sciences. The will be one paper of total 200 MCQ type questions. The examination will be held in morning session from 9 am to 12 pm and evening session from 9 am to 12 pm. The candidates will also have to pay the penalty for wrong answer.
