Yenepoya University MBBS/BDS admission is carried out to grant admission at Yenepoya Medical College and Yenepoya Dental College. Admission is taken on the basis of NEET score. Eligibility Criteria for MBBS/BDS Courses: The eligibility criteria given below are as per the YU UGET. Additionally, the candidates should qualify NEET: One must have passed in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent exam recognized by State/Central Government, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English subject One must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in PUB. One appearing for the prescribed qualifying exam and expecting the results are also eligible to apply One should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the academic year of admission Important Dates 2016 Calendar of Events for MBBS/BDS admission 2016-17 Based on NEET 2016 Results Issue of Application: 18th August 2016 Last date for receipt of Application: 23rd August 2016 Publishing of Merit List: 24th August 2016 Commencement for1st Round Counselling: 27th August 2016 Last Date for Reporting to the College 1st round of counselling: 01st September 2016 Surrendering of seats allotted during first round of counselling: 02nd September 2016 Commencement of classes: 03rd September 2016 Commencement of 2nd Round Counselling/Reporting: 23rd September 2016 Last Date for Admission: 30th September 2016 Seat Available Total seats available for seats sanctioned for admissions: a) 150 for MBBS b) 100 for BDS The admissions will be carried out as per the following norms: (i) 15% of the seats are filled from NRI candidates (ii) 85% of the seats are filled only from the NEET merit list in the following manner: (a) 40% are reserved for Muslim candidates from Karnataka & Karnataka origin candidates (b) 25% are reserved for Muslim candidates from the rest of India (c) 35% are reserved for candidates from the all India general merit category (Includes candidates selected through Karnataka CET)
