Mithila University was set up on August 5, 1972. The University we represented the Bihar State University Act, 2976, The University renamed as Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU). The regional ward of the University is spread more than four regions of Bihar in particular Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Begusarai.The college has 43 constituent schools and 25 associated universities other than two government universities – Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital and Rural Institute, Birouli, Samastipur. 42 constituent schools and 07 partnered universities are enrolled under segment 2 f and 12(B) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956.
