Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), with its assignment of ‘Retaining a dominant position in the Indian Petroleum sector as well as enhancing India’s energy availability’ and recognizing the reality that petroleum resources are dwindling worldwide, has taken steps to glance at all forms of energy to fulfill the country’s rising energy needs. Towards this end, it has recognized an ONGC Energy Centre Trust (OECT), which is mandated to take on or assist in programs / projects of fundamental and practical research for improving and developing commercially viable energy mediums and sources further than hydrocarbons, especially in clean and/or renewable energy options.

The ONGC Energy Centre aims to carry out research in alternate energy, exclusively focusing on projects, which have the prospective to make an impact on India’s energy outlook.
