Default Re: Autonomous Underwater Vehicle DRDO

Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has built up an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) as innovation demonstrator. A venture has been taken up to exhibit certain improved basic parameters of the AUV. DRDO has embraced a plausibility study for the improvement of various sorts of AUV stages that could be utilized for an assortment of parts, similar to observation and mine counter measures, and so forth.

With its Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), created as an innovation demonstrator, passing assemble in broad trials, the Naval Science and Technology Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam will "make a couple of business as usual" for knowledge, observation and surveillance missions by the Navy and organizations like the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited for protecting seaward establishments.

The NSTL is an office of the Defense Research and Development Organization.

In his first media communication subsequent to assuming control as Director-General (Naval Systems and Materials) at the DRDO a week ago, V. Bhujanga Rao told The Hindu here that the flatfish-formed, 1.7-ton reconfigurable vehicle fit for conveying payloads of up to 500 kg would now be changed over into an operational stage.

Independently, the DRDO would chip away at a yet-to-be endorsed Rs. 250-crore program for building up a scope of AUVs for an assortment of parts as power multipliers. The office is excited about creating mammoth AUVs, measuring 12 tons, which could work as submadrones under its mystery Autonomous Sea Vehicle program, which is like the U.S. Naval force's Manta Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Program.
