Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) had announced the recruitment of Engineer Trainees in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering and Metallurgy. Candidates must have valid GATE 2016 scores to be eligible for recruitment. Position: Engineer Trainees in Discipline Vacancies Mechanical Engineering 115 Electrical Engineering 60 Electronics Engineering 15 Metallurgy 10 Selection process was on the basis of GATE 2016 scores followed by a personal interview. Weightage was 75% to GATE 2016 scores and 25% to Interview. Physically Challenged candidates were accorded up to 20 % relaxation below the cut-off marks in the respective categories for being short listed for interview. Eligibility Criteria: • Candidates must have passed the Bachelor degree holder in Engineering /Technology or Five year integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree programme in Engineering or Technology in the disciplines of Mechanical /Electrical /Electronics Engineering/ Metallurgy from a recognized Indian University/ Institute Age Limit: as on September 1, 2015 Candidates must be 27 Years 29 years for candidates having two years’ full time Post Graduate in Engineering or Business Administration/ Management SC/ST: 5 Years OBC (NCL): Relaxation by 3 years Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation was as per extant Govt. rules. Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1/1/1980 to 31/12/1989: Relaxation by 5 years Physically Challenged Candidates: Upper age limit is relaxable as follows • by 10 years for General • by 13 years for OBC (NCL) • by 15 years for SC/ST Important Dates: • Availability of the GATE 2016 Application: September 1 – October 8, 2015 • Availability of BHEL Application from: January 4, 2016 • Last date for applying: February 1, 2016 • Last Date for receipt of acknowledgement slip at BHEL for Rest of India: February 8, 2016 • Last Date for receipt of Acknowledgement slip at BHEL for North East and far flung areas: February 15, 2016
