Hii Buddy , I m thinking to Crack CAT Exam After Completed B. Com Programme , Here would you please tell me Eligibility , Age Limit and Exam pattern Details ?

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a Computer Based Selection Test Conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for their Business Administration Programs.

The CAT Exam is an Important Prerequisite for admission into more than 100 management institutes across India which includes reputed institutions like
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS),
S.P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR),
Management Development Institute (Gurgoan),
International Management Institute (IMI),
National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE),
Institute of Management Technology (IMT),
Jamanlal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS)


This Exam is Conducted every year by IIM’s on Rotational Basis.

CAT Exam Dates are generally declared in the month of August every year.

Details of CAT Exam 2016:

Release of Advertisement July 2016 (Sunday)
Online Registration for CAT 06th August to 25th September 2016
Admit Card Download Window 15th October 2016, 1:00 PM till Exam Date
CAT Exam Test Date 29th November 2016 (Sunday)
Results Declaration Second week of January 2017


Eligibility:

The minimum requirements for almost all institutes to seek admission to their Master's Degree / Post-Graduate Diploma in Management are :
A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories)

OR

Appearing at the final-year examination of a post 10+2 course . of minimum three years' duration, leading to an award of a Bachelor's Degree, in any discipline of a statutory university in India (so recognised by the Association of Indian Universities)

OR

Post-Graduate applicants having at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in either their Bachelor's or Post-Graduate Degrees .

Application fee :

For General and NC/OBC category Candidates Registration fee is Rs.1600/

For the SC/ST/Person with Disability application fee is Rs.800/.

Selection Process :

The admission is truly based on personal score in CAT 2016 and the group discussion, written ability test, and personal interview.

CAT 2016 Exam Pattern :


There Will be 3 Sections in CAT 2016

Quantitative ability (QA) 34
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) 32
Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) 34
Total No. of Questions 100

Duration of the examination will be 180 minutes.

Some questions in each section Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal and Reading Comprehension

On-screen timer will mark remaining minutes for the test.

Three (3) points will be awarded for each correct answer; one (1) point will be deducted for each wrong answer.
There is no penalty for questions that are left unanswered.

CAT Exam Syllabus

To let you know, CAT does not have any predefined syllabus. CAT Entrance Exam, will have 3 Sections as below:
Quantitative Ability (QA)
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC)
