Default Re: Genetics Engineering After 10+2 Examination

Genetic Engineering is an advanced branch of Science which concerns a broad range of techniques applied in altering the genetic material in the DNA code in a living thing. There are many universities in India which offer this program like Banaras Hindu University, Jadavpur University, and Bangalore University. These all universities provide Bachelor of Science in Genetic engineering. For Bachelor of Science in Genetic engineering, candidates must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics as well as genetics as part of the biology or a bachelor’s degree in science or molecular biology. Most of the institutions in India provide courses in Genetic Engineering as a subsidiary in Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry streams not as a special subject.

B.Tech. Genetic Engineering is a 4- year undergraduate course

Eligibility for B.Tech. in Genetic Engineering

For admission to B.Tech. Genetic Engineering course, the candidate is needed to have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognized Board of education with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects with a minimum aggregate score of 60%.

Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Molecular Biology are also eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure

For admission to the course, candidates are required to qualify a relevant national/ State/ university level engineering entrance examination followed by rounds of counseling and personal interview.

Some of the major national- level entrance examinations conducted in India for admission to the course are JEE MAIN, JEE ADVANCE, SRMJEEE, VIT EEE, BIT-SAT, JNU EEE, etc
