IIT Madras Music Club

In which year IIT Madras Music Club was set up can you here tell me about it , as I am also going to take admission there and want to be part of IIT Madras Music Club??

As you asking I am telling IIT Madras Music Club, was set in October 1970, by a dedicated group of faculty, staff and students to promote listening to classical music amidst campus residents, students included.

Highlights Classiest - In early August, every year - a festival of concerts by popular artists.

Youthfest - In early January, every year a festival of concerts by young, promising musicians.

Membership Details
The following rates of membership for students, staff, faculty of IITM and others are effective at present (Aug. 2009):

Students of IITM: Rs 500/- (annual)

Faculty of IITM: Rs. 100/- per month. (Please note that this can be paid by deduction at source from your income) or Rs. 1000/- (per year on one-time payment).
Staff of IITM: Rs. 60/- per month. (Please note that this can be paid by deduction at
source from your income) or Rs. 600/- (per year on one-time payment).
Others (general public): Rs.1200/- (annual)
