Kannur University was set up in 1996 to give improvement of advanced education in Kasaragod, Kannur, and Wayanad regions of Kerala, India. It was built up after the death of Act No. 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

The target of the Kannur University Act, 1996 was to set up in the condition of Kerala an instructing, private and affiliating college to accommodate the advancement of advanced education in Kasargod and Kannur income Districts and the Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad District

Board of Studies:

It is thus informed that the accompanying alterations to Statute 4, Chapter XIII 'Sheets of Studies' of the Kannur College First Statutes-1998 to incorporate the Chairman of Boards of Studies (UG) as and ex-officio individual from the other Sheets of Studies (PG) was affirmed by the Syndicate at its meeting hung on 26-9-2012 has been consented by the Chancellor vide Lr. No. GS5-2131/2012 dated fourth February, 2013.

Revision to Statute 4, Chapter XIII 'Sheets of Studies' of the Kannur University First Statutes-1998

That the current procurement in Statutes 4 'Designation of Chairman and Member of Board of Studies' in Chapter XIII-'Sheets of Studies' of the Kannur University First Statutes, 1998 is revised as takes after:

4. Designation of Chairman and Member of Board of Studies:—

The Chairman and Members of the Boards of Studies should be named by the Chancellor. The quantity of such individuals should not be under 5 or more than 11 including ex-officio part. Executive of one Board of Studies might be an ex-officio individual from the other Board of Studies in the same subject.
