Directorate of Government Examinations is an independent department functioning under ministry of secondary education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The department is responsible for conducting the SSC/OSSC Public Examinations and a number of minor examinations

This happened on 28 June 1914.
Austria declared a war on Serbia.
Other countries of the world joined either side and so World War began.

A: 1) The German empire was broken up and replaced by a democratic republic.

A: League of Nations was founded in 1920 to prevent wars by settling disputes through negotiations.
Ensure disarmaments and reduce manufacturing of arms.
Work for development, labour welfare and health.

Q: Mention a few consequences of the Great Depression.
A: Unemployment increased.
There is a decline in demand and fall in prices.
Factories closed down.
Stock Market collapsed.

Q: What are the main objectives of United Nations Organisation?
A: Preserving world peace.
Upholding human rights.
Respecting international laws.
Promoting social progress.

Q: What are the two power blocks?
A: 1) Allied powers of United Kingdom, France and Russia supported Serbia.
2) The central powers are Germany, Italy, Austria, Hungary.

Q: What is Aggressive Nationalism?
A: The ideology of Nationalism was a positive impulse. It's a strong feeling of people towards nationalism. This created pride in
Germany and Italy and hatred against the neighboring countries.

Q: Explain imperialism.
A: As industrial capitalism was grown in European countries, they needed raw materials and markets for their products. A race for colonies was started and it led to increase their area of influence. This created a tension and led to World Wars.

Q: What are the New International Organizations formed after World Wars?
A: 1) League of Nations.
2) United Nations Organization.
3) UNICEF, UNESCO, WHO, ILO are the agencies of UNO.

Q: What are the reasons for the World Wars?
A: 1) Immediate causes
2) Imperialism
3) Secret Alliances
4) Aggressive Nationalism
5) Militarism
6) Vengeful domination of Germany

Q: Mention any two consequences of the World Wars.
A: 1) Enormous human cost.
2) Assertion of democratic principles.

Q: Explain Socialism.
A: A political and economic system which advocates that the means of production, distribution and exchange should be owned and regulated by the community as a whole.
