Chhattisgarh is a state in Central India. It is the 10th largest state in India, with an area of 135,190 square kms. With a population of 25.5 million, Chhattisgarh is the 16th most-populated state of the nation. It is a source of electricity and steel for India.

Schools are in:
Dhamtari (Chhattisgarh);
Yadgir (Karnataka);
Sirohi & Tonk (Rajasthan);
Uttarkashi & Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand)

Schools of Azim Premji Foundation are provides:

Focus on children from disadvantaged backgrounds
Will eventually serve children between 3 and 18 years of age from pre-school to Class 12
Are affiliated to State Boards of Education
Have the state language as the medium of instruction - students will also learn English
Focus on health and nutrition as a critical input
Are free of cost

The state was formed on 1 November 2000 by carving out 16 Chhattisgarhi-speaking south-eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. Raipur is the capital city.
