IIT JAM Preparation

I am doing preparation of IIT JAM exam so can you please provide me the tips and the exam pattern for preparation of this exam?

Joint Admission Test (JAM) exam is an all India admission test conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development for admission into M.Sc programme, joint PhD dual degree, and other post B.Sc programmes at various IITs.

IIT JAM exam preparation tips-

Firstly make time table of study and follow this strictly.

Do preparation according to the syllabus and exam pattern

Simple questions will be always expected in Analytical and General awareness sections. Clear strategy, methodical preparations and time management skills are essential for cracking down IIT JAM successfully.

Try to solve as many as mock test papers & previous year’s papers

More of the questions would be from High school and higher secondary level of mathematics and finger tips formulae and theorem will assist the test taker to a greater extent to complete the section at the scheduled time.

Basic knowledge about computers will be tested in Computer knowledge section will be added with the fundamentals of “C” Language.

There is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer consisting of one mark and 2/3rd mark for questions comprising two marks so do the questions for which you are sure.

Take healthy diet.

Exam pattern-

IIT JAM is a Paper based exam.

Number of Questions and Time duration : 100 questions with 3 hrs time duration. 300 marks

IIT JAM Question Pattern 2016 :

IIT JAM contains Math, Computer Knowledge, Analytical abilities and General Awareness sections.

The maximum number of marks will be carried by the Math Section, followed by Computer ending with Analytical and General Awareness abilities.
