Hello sir, I have account in Central bank of India. I want to know about Non-Resident Ordinary Rupee Account Scheme of Central bank of India? Can any one provide me basic info of Non-Resident Ordinary Rupee Account Scheme central bank of India? Central bank of India provides NRO account is designated in Indian Rupees and can either be savings or current or term deposit accounts. NRO Accounts are very similar to domestic accounts. NRI resident in Nepal or Bhutan cannot open NRO account and NRI resident in Pakistan require a special permission from Reserve Bank of India Any person resident outside India (other than a person resident in Nepal and Bhutan ,individuals / entities of Pakistan nationality / ownership as well as erstwhile OCBs require prior approval of RBI).Individuals of Bangladesh Nationality can open NRO account. Type of Account: Savings, Current, Recurring, Fixed Deposit Period for fixed deposits: Minimum one year and Maximum ten years Most of the Domestic Term Deposit Schemes like MMDC, MIDR, QIDR and RDS are also available for NRIs. Other facilities like Internet banking, free SMS alerts, statement of accounts by Email, Debit/ATM cards (valid in India),Safe Deposit Locker are available.
