Union public service commission conduct Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination once every year. Only eligible candidates can appear in the exam. Eligibility for Indian Forest Service exam Nationality: Candidate must be either: A citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee Age Limits: 21 years -30 years. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering. Number of attempts: General candidates: four attempts. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction. Other Backward Classes: Seven attempts. Tentative Schedule for Exam: Notification of Examination: February/March Conduct of Examination: July Scheme of Examination Written Examination - Conventional (essay) type Paper I - General English 300 Marks Paper II - General Knowledge 300 Marks Paper III, IV, V & VI – Any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects.
