University of Science and Technology of Hanoi is a university in Vietnam, newly developing in a partnership between the Vietnamese and French governments.

Since 2010 it has been operating in temporary facilities shared with Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

International Joint Labs

The intergovernmental agreement signed between France and Vietnam initiated a strong partnership between the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi and the 43 Universities and Institutions of the French consortium in order to create International Joint Research Units in each departments of USTH.

5 international joint research units are now implemented at USTH

-The LMI RICE “Plant Biotechnology and Rice Genomics”

-The joint laboratory “Nano-Engineering Science” between Institute of Material Science (VAST) and USTH and the LIA “MASENO – Magnetic and Semiconducting Nano-Objects” with the CNRS.

-The joint laboratory RELISH “Vietnam France ICT Lab” between USTH – Institute of Information Technology (VAST) – Université de La Rochelle now including the UMI UMMISCO (IRD).

-The joint laboratory CLEAN-ED in Renewable Energy between USTH, the Centre International pour l’Agriculture et le Développement (CIRAD), the Centre International de Recherche sur l’Environnement et le Développement (CIRED).

-The joint laboratory HILO in Oceanography between USTH, Université de Toulouse, Université du Littoral et de la Côte d’Opale, Université de Toulon and Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD).
