Panna is a city and a municipality in Panna district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is famous for its diamond mines. It is the administrative center of Panna District. The Hindu deity Jagannath at Puri is known as the Nilachal or Niladri, [Nila (Blue) + Achal (Mount] meaning, The Blue Mountain. The Nilachal is a principal and recurring motif in the Jagannath cult. The Nilachal is a place of high religious significance in Hinduism and is one of the four Char Dhams. A large group of diamond deposits extends North-East on a branch of the Vindhya Range for 150 miles (240 km) or so, and is known as the Panna group.
