Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released a recruitment notification to fill the following Vacancies.

Vacancy Details:

Total No. of Posts: 2484

Name of the Post:

1. Assistant/ First Division Assistant: 1182 posts

2. Junior Assistant/ Second Division Assistant: 1237 posts

3. Second Division Assistant (Backlog): 65 posts

Age Limit:

The age of applicants must be above 18 years and below 35 years for General category,

The age of applicants must be 38 years for Category IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB and 40 years for SC/ ST & Category-I applicants .

Educational Qualification:

Applicants must have obtained a Degree from an university by law in India, Diploma, Visharada, Hindi Pandit for First Division Assistant,

Applicants must have completed IInd PUC/ ITI/ 3 years Diploma Exam for Junior Assistant, Second Division Assistant & Second Division Assistant (Backlog).

Selection Process:

Selection depends on Kannada Language Test & Computer Proficiency Test.

Important Dates:

Starting Date to Apply Online was : 03-07-2015.

Last Date to Apply Online was : 01-08-2015

Last Date for Payment of Fee through Post Office was : 03-08-2015.

The Karnataka Administrative Service KAS exam conducts by KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission).

Requirements for Karnataka Administrative Service KAS

Age Limit: 21 – 35 Years

UPPER AGE LIMIT
Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and category I candidates.
Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 3 years for Other backward category candidates.
Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 10 years for Physically Handicapped or Widow candidates.

TOTAL ATTEMPTS
7 Attempts in case of Candidate belongs OBC
5 Attempts to General Candidates
No Limit for SC / ST Candidates

Minimum Qualification: Graduation from recognized University in any discipline

KPSC Karnataka Administrative Service KAS Exam Syllabus
Preliminary

PAPER – 1,
(i) Current events of National and International importance.
(ii) Humanities - History of India – Emphasis shall be on broad general understanding
of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects with a focus on
Indian national movement with special emphasis on Karnataka.
(iii) World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on Karnataka.
(iv) Indian Polity and economy, including the country’s political system, rural
development, planning and economic reforms in India-sustainable development,
poverty alleviation, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.,

PAPER –II
(i) Current events of State importance and important State Govt. programmes.
(ii) General Science & Technology, Environment & Ecology – contemporary
developments in science and technology, and their implications including matters of
everyday observations and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated
person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline, general issues
on Health, environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change- that do not
require subject specialisation.
(iii) General Mental Ability – Comprehension, Logical reasoning and Analytical ability,
Decision making, problem solving, Basic innumeracy (numbers and their relations,
order of magnitude etc.,) and data interpretation ( charts, graphs, tables, data
sufficiency etc., (class X / SSLC level).
