Monbusho Scholarship

What is the process to appear in Monbusho scholarship? It gets conducted in Japan, can I being the resident of India eligible to apply for Monbusho scholarship 2012?

For applying for the Monbusho Scholarship, candidates’ age should be between 17 years to 22 years of age. Candidates must have done a twelve year regular course of school education or have graduated from a school equivalent to the senior high school in Japan. Candidates must have no infectious diseases and have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with the Japanese government.

I live in MP and want to apply for the Monbusho ship 2012 can I apply for this scholarship? If yes, please give me when the notification for this scholarship will be published in 2012?

Scholarship has 4 categories as given below:

Screening Process Scheduled in the month
Late June: Written Examination
Late July - Early August: Interviews

How to Apply
Application forms for the written examination will be available at the -Office of Cultural Affairs and Scholarships of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and to be send the forms on this address at June 8th.

Monbusho Scholarship is being provided by the Ritsumeikan University, these scholarships are divided into 2 categories, and degree-seeking and non-degree seeking (research) students.

To apply for this scholarship you must:
Newly enter Japan for the purpose of study upon receipt of the scholarship.
Have been born on or after April 2, 1979.
Be in both good physical and mental health.
Be able to arrive in Japan on the date designated by the host institution in the middle of September 2014.
Meet or exceed the academic and linguistic ability requirements established by Monbukagakusho.
Have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with the Japanese government. Applicants who have Japanese nationality are not eligible.
