Rationale: Engineering Chemistry has profound and deep relationship with the industrial and environmental technology. This curriculum intends to impart technical knowledge alongwith productive practice to the students of the diploma engineering. The teachers are expected to guide the students in the classroom and the laboratories according to the curriculum by demonstrations and by showing relevant materials and equipments to inculcate interests in learning among students.

1. ATOMIC STRUCTURE : Basic concept of atomic structure, Matter wave concept, Quantum number, Haisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, Shaples of orbitals.

2. CHEMICAL BONDING : Covalent bond, Ionic & Co-ordinate, Hydrogen bonding,Valence bond theory, Hybridisation, VSEPR theory, Molecular orbital theory.
