The first step toward a career as a licensed practical nurse is completion of a state-approved, year-long, training program

Dressing wounds
Helping patients bathe and dress
Feeding patients
Providing basic bedside care
Measuring and recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration
Preparing and giving enemas and injections

Licensed Practical Nurse is integral members of the health care team; they work under the direction of a physician, dentist, or registered nurse. They are also known as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN). The functions of LPN are as following:

Providing basic bedside care
Measuring and recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration
Preparing and giving enemas and injections
Dressing wounds
Helping patients bathe and dress
Feeding patients

Outpatient Care Centers
Medical Clinics
Doctor’s Offices
Home Health Care
Assisted Living Facilities
