How to Calculate GPA

Sorry to say there is no universal way to calculate grade point average (GPA). Certainly GPA calculation methods differ by country and by institute, as some give extra points for honors classes and some weight score by units.






GPA by grade:

A = 4.00 grade points
A- = 3.70 grade points
B+ = 3.33 grade points
B = 3.00 grade points
B- = 2.70 grade points
C+ = 2.30 grade points
C = 2.00 grade points
C- = 1.70 grade points
D+ = 1.30 grade points
D = 1.00 grade points
D- = 0.70 grade points


Example:

Course Grade scale GPA

X A+ 4.33
Y B+ 3.33
Z A- 3.67

Total: 11.33

= 11.33/3
GPA = 3.77
