Process to Apply for Custom House Agent Exam

Please tell me how I can apply for the Custom House Agent Exam and what is the eligibility for it ?

As you want I am here providing you the information for apply to the Custom House Agent Exam.

Eligibility:
Candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Anyone of MBA/LLB/CA/Diploma in Custom Clearance can apply
2. G card holders with 3 years experience can apply
3. Class A officers

Application forms
You can apply for the exam by getting form and submitting it , that available at the Custom Office of every state July onwards.

Examination may include questions on:

preparation of various kinds of bills of entry and shipping bills;

arrival entry and clearance of vessels;

tariff classification and rates of duty;

determination of value for assessment;

conversion of currency;

nature and description of documents to be filed with various kinds of bills of entry and shipping bills;

prohibitions on import and export;

bonding procedure and clearance from bond;

re-importation and conditions for free re-entry;

drawback;

procedure for assessment and payment of duty;

examination of merchandise at the Customs Stations;

provisions of the Trade and Merchandise Marks Act, 1958 (43 of 1958);

offences under the Act;

Hi,

I understand from all the above post that a person with post graduate can only apply for CHA exam (apart from other two condition).

I have below queries regarding CHA Exam and would like to understand the entire process from start to end.

1. Person with M.Com Degree can appear for this exam. Correct??
2. Now to apply for this exam, where do i register?? Is there any online portal or government website from where i can register myself for this exam??
3. Is there any specific time in a year during which one can appear for this exam?? Is the date of the exam is governed by any specific authority?? OR i can register for the exam at any point in time and give the exam as per my preparation??
4. Is there any passing criteria for this exam??
5. After giving exam, how much time it takes to share the result & how it is shared i.e. online or offline??
6. How do we get the CHA License copy? Is it soft copy mailed to us or hard copy delivered at postal address or do we have to go and collect the same physically??
7. I see type of licenses mentioned in may post like G/H card holder. What are these and what is the difference between each one of them?
8. How much time the entire process takes starting from online registration of the exam to arrival of license??
9. What is the cost of the exam and its registration??

MBA/LLB/CA,DIPLOMA IN CUSTOMS CLEARANCE are the eligible courses to write CHA exam.

Otherwise, if u have completed Degree, pls join a CHA company and work for 3 years where u will be eligible to obtain G card, from with another 3 yrs experience as G card holder, u can appear for CHA exam.

I have few questions / Confusion which are mentioned below.

1. I have been completed TYBA from YCMOU ( Yanshwantroa Chavan Maharashtra Open University - Nashik) so this open university graduate certificate eligible for CHA exam?

2. I have been completed SSC from Mumbai university and after that I took admission in YUMOU university for HSC and Graduation.... Now my question is I have HSC university certificate is called ' Preparatory certificate ( means I'm not gave Mumbai university exam for HSC ). Then university give me permission for further higher study like Graduation.

So I have SSC + PREPARATORY + TYBA education certificate so according these certificate can I eligible for CHA exam.

3. I have more then 4 years of an experience in shipping sector, currently I am working with United Arab Shipping Company Mumbai Branch As Documentation specialist. So my experience is helpful for CHA exam?

4. Now I'm planning to do MBA from distance education college so distance Mba certificate eligible for CHA exam?

Please sir answer my above mentioned questions, it will be great help for me..
