Eligibility for CDS exam:

For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy
Candidate should have bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized University or equivalent.
Age Limit: not be more than 24years

For Indian Naval Academy :
Candidate should have bachelor degree in Engineering.
Age Limit: not be more than 22years


For Air Force Academy :
Candidate should have bachelor degree of Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics in 12th class ) or Bachelor of Engineering
Age Limit: not be more than 23years

Defense Sector in India several options like Air Force, Navy and Army. Union Public Service Commission conducts common examination for recruitment of candidates to Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. There are a number of departments like legal wing, educational corporations, medical services and administrative wing where candidates can find job opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements in Defense Sector in India

One should be between the age group of 16.5 and 27 years

One must be unmarried and initially only male candidates were permitted to apply, but now even unmarried women can apply to defense jobs in India

One need to fulfill the physical fitness prescribed

One must be a citizen of India and even subjects of neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet, who have migrated to India with a view to permanently settle in India can apply.

Selection process:

A very strict selection process is there for the recruitment of candidates to the Defense Sector.

The selection process includes written test and interview, which is sometimes called as personality and intelligence test.

Written test is conducted in two papers, namely General Ability and Mathematics with 600 marks and 300 marks respectively.

Both the papers are conducted for two-and-half hours each and candidates clearing the written exam are called for interview to assess the potential of the candidate and to find whether they are suitable for the job.

If one is suitable, the authorities decide as to whether to post the candidate in Army or Navy or Air Force.

Eligibility to join Indian Army Soldier
Educational qualification:
Candidates must have passed Matriculation or any equivalent with Mathematics, Science and English as major subjects.

Nationality:
The candidates must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/ Bhutan/ Tibetan refugee/ a Person of Indian origin. The candidates other than Indian nationals should submit the eligibility certificate issued by Government of India.

Marital status:
Unmarried male candidates alone are eligible.
Age:
Candidates’ age must be between 16 years and 21 years

Physical standards:
(1) Minimum height should be at least 167cm
(2) Chest measurement should not be less than 77cm on expansion.
(3) Minimum weight should be at least 50kg
(4) Candidates should be free from any communicable infections and should not have any medical or surgical deformities.


Medical Standards
A candidate should have robust physique and good mental health. Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 Cms expansion.
Should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes
He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye.
