Default Join IMA after MBA

Can you tell me if I can join IMA (Indian Military Academy) after completing MBA? Also tell me if girls can join the Armed Forces?

Union Public service commission (UPSC) conducts CDSE or Combined Defence Service Exam for:

Indian Military i.e. Army, Navy and Air force
Males are eligible to join Army (IMA), Navy and Air Force
Army (OTA, SSC) male and females both are eligible

CDSE comprises of written test followed by Personality Tests (SSB Interview)

Eligibility Criteria 2014

Age Limit
Unmarried male candidates, born between 2nd January 1991 and 1st January 1996

Educational qualification
Aspirants willing to apply of Indian military academy through CDS examination should have a Graduate Degree from recognized university.

Selection process –

Students undergone three phase of examination/interview/test before final selection.

Firstly, candidates need to qualify objective type written exam as per prescribed pattern.

After that minimum cutoff marks will be decided by commission and merit list is prepared for second stage of SSB interview.

Applicants who get passed in SSB interview have to undergone medical tests before joining their respective academy.

Application fees-

General and OBC category students including creamy layer candidates required to pay Rs. 200 as application fees
SC/ST candidates are exempted to pay application fees.

Paper Subject Duration Maximum Marks

I English 2 hours 100
II General Knowledge 2 hours 100
III Elementary Mathematics 2 hours 100
Total 300
