Is IELTS compulsory in UK

Is the International English Language Testing System compulsory to study in UK universities?????

International English Language Testing System is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers.

This test is highly recommended in the Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.

IELTS may not be required by some of the education providers for your admission at a college or university in UK. But it is highly recommended that you take the test before you apply for visa to the British High Commission or the Embassy of Australia etc.
