SCT Institute of Technology was established in the year 2001 after taking the due approval of AICTE, New Delhi and Govt of Karnataka. Since then, SCTIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India.

The institute offers the courses to choose from, in different branches of engineering such as Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer, Information science etc. At the post graduate level the institute conducts regular 'Business Administration (MBA)' and 'Computer Applications (MCA)' courses.

As you are looking to get the details of the admissions to the MCA at the institute so here are the details that can help you-

Eligibility to take admission-

Aspirant must have the Bachelor degree with not less than 50% of the marks on aggregate of all years with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer science / Computer programming / Computer applications as one of the optionals.

However for SC/ST students and those belonging to other backward classes as specified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose, the qualifying minimum marks shall be 45%.

Admission Procedure

Admission to first year course of Engineering at the institute is done on the basis of performance at the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Govt. of Karnataka. Students from outside Karnataka can seek admission through COMED-K, a common test conducted by Private Medical, Engineering & Dental colleges Association of Karnataka to get admission to the course.

Admission to MBA and MCA courses is regulated through similar entrance tests PGCET that are conducted by Govt. of Karnataka and Common Aptitude Test, K-MAT conducted by Karnataka private post graduate colleges association.

Candidates can also seek admission against seats reserved as ‘Management Quota’ of the institute. Allotment of these seats are done by the college on the basis of test score/rank at CET, Karnataka / COMED-K or test conducted by SCTIT to get the admission ot the course.

Non Resident Indians Admissions (NRI Quota)
An NRI student is one whose parent or guardian is living in a foreign country and the student is an Indian citizen who may have lived or studied in India or abroad.

NRI Students are allowed to take admission without CET against prescribed quota by the Karnataka Govt. every year to the courses at the instituite . Students from gulf countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai, Bahrain, Iran etc come under the quota.
