What is the age limit required to appear for PCS - Punjab Civil Services Exam???

PCS - Punjab Civil Services Exam is a combined competitive examination held by the Punjab Public Service Commission for recruitment of various services/posts

Age Limit for PCS

You should not be less than 21 years and more than 38 years of age with relaxation for reserved categories as per Govt. instructions mentioned below :-

- Provided that in the case of Punjab Police Service, a candidate should have attained
the minimum age of twenty one years and should not have attained the age of twenty eight years
-Provided that in the case of Punjab Police Service/Punjab Prison Services, a candidate should have attained the minimum age of 21 years and should not have attained the age of 27 years on the first day of the year
- However, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward
Classes of Punjab the age is relaxed upto 5 years as per Punjab Government
Instructions including the Punjab Police Service.
- The upper age limit for a Punjab Government / Other State Government/ Central
Government employees will be relaxed up to 47 years.
-The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable up to a maximum of five years for Schedules Castes and Scheduled Tribes of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab.
-The upper age limit for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of women of Punjab will be relaxable up to 40 years.
-Age relaxation in upper age limit is up to 10 years for the disabled persons of Punjab.
-Provided that in the case of Deputy Superintendent of Police, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab are relaxed in age, up to 5 years as per Punjab Government Instructions.
-The upper age limit for a Punjab Government employee, including that of a court, who has not less than four years continuous service under the Government, will be relaxable up to 45 years.

Other Eligibility –

Nationality
You should be a:
Citizen of India; or
Citizen of Nepal; or
Subject of Bhutan; or
Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the Ist January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganike and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India;

Educational Qualification:
-You should possess a degree of bachelor in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.
-The candidate can take preliminary examination while studying for his degree course.

I am planning to give the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) and for this looking for the details of age limit and other eligibility criteria for giving the Punjab Civil Services (PCS). Can you provide me all details and also provide me complete syllabus of this PCS exam?

As per your query here I am providing you the details of age limit and other eligibility criteria for giving the Punjab Civil Services (PCS)

Public Civil Service Examination
Age Limit :-


Any graduate who are within the age limit of 20-35 can apply for PCS.
Those who are applying for Punjab Police Service, should at least 21 years old and not more than 28 years old.
There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST category candidates.
Those who are employed in Punjab Government for at least 4 years are eligible for the examination upto 45 years of age.
Widow or devorces women get apply for the examination upto 40 years of age.
Scheduled tribes and backward classes candidates who are applying for DSP post get 5 years of relaxation in maximum age limit.
Those who are worked for armed force for 4 years without any break, their year of service is deducted for from their original age. Then if deducted satisfies age criteria, they can apply for PCS.

Examination pattern

This is taken in there stages:

a. Preliminary
b. Main
c. Interview.
