~How many optional subjects we have to opt for IAS Exam in mains???? Will you please provide me the list of optional subjects?????????? You need to opt for 2 optional subjects for IAS Mains examination only. Before you finalize any subject of your own or on any advice, have a look at the syllabus of the subject and then decide what best suits you. Civil Services Examination (CSE) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) among others Here I am giving you complete list of optional subjects for civil services main examination. You have to opt for any one subject. Optional paper consists of two papers of 250 marks each.
