Indian Foreign Service [IFS] is a Central Service and the premier diplomatic service of India. The Indian Foreign Service [IFS] entrance examination is conducted by the UPSC.

IFS Officer Scopes are as following:
It offers immense exposure to different political, social, ethnic and cultural milieu.

An I.F.S officer can be posted in 160 odd Indian Embassies and Missions abroad.

They can also be deputed to institutions like United Nations, UNESCO, World Bank, SAARC, etc.

Back home, they can be posted in various parts of the country as Passport Officers.

Indian Foreign Service Officers is one of the loyal and respectable jobs.
The Indian Foreign Service is the administrative diplomatic civil service under Group A and Group B of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India
If you want to do this then there is bright future.
Eligibility

must have passed your graduation in any discipline
age must be between 21 to 30 years of age .


You can work ast the following posts in Indian embassy
Minister
Deputy Chief of Mission/Deputy High Commissioner/Deputy Permanent Representative
Ambassador/High Commissioner/Permanent Representative
Third Secretary
Second Secretary
First Secretary
Counsellor

In Ministry of External Affairs you can work at the following post ::

Joint Secretary
Additional Secretary
Secretary
Under Secretary
Deputy Secretary
Director


The Civil Services Examination has to be cleared for recruitment for the IAS, IPS and IFS

You have to clear three stages –

a preliminary exam,

a main exam,

an interview-.
