In order to become a Customs Officer, the aspirants will have to appear for the Civil Services Examination. It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

Required qualification:
The candidate should hold a degree with good academic record from any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Age Limits
Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August

Relaxation in upper age limit
SC/ST -5 years
OBC- 3 years
Physically Handicapped - 10 years

Nationality:
A candidate must be a citizen of:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The Civil Services Examination comprises:
Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT)
Civil Services Main Examination
Personality Test

To become customs officer then you need to crack the Civil Service examination.

Here are details required to become Customs officer:

Eligibility:

Required qualification:
The applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree is the basic qualification.

The applicants age should be above 19 yrs and must have completed graduation.

The aspirant must score above 55% of marks and then only can he/she apply.

Qualities required
Age limit- 18 years old
Indian citizenship
Must possess a Vehicle license
Should never have used drugs of any kind
Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the desired position

Selection procedure;

PRELIM
MAIN
INTERVIEW

Prelim syllabus:
1)Paper - I(200 Marks) Duration :- Two hrs.

-Current Events of national and International Importance
-History of India and Indian National Movements
-Indian and World Geography
-Indian and Polity Governance
-Economics and Social development
-General Issues
-General Science

2)Paper - II(200 Marks) Duration :- Two hrs.

-Comprehension
-Interpersonal Skills Including communication skills
-Logical reasoning and analytical ability
-Decision making and Problem Solving
-General mental ability
-Basic Numeracy
-Data Interpretation
-English Language Comprehension Skills
