Theory:

Theory : Nuclear Physics, Interaction of Radiation with Matter, Shielding, Radiation Detectors, Biological Effects, Radiation Protection, Basic safety rules, Sources of Radiation and their characteristics, Film construction and Film Processing, Exposure Techniques and Calculations, Sensitivity & Definition, Use of I.Q.I., Shim and Densitometers, Other Accessories, Types of Discontinuities.

Radiography of Castings and Welding by X-ray and Gamma ray using films. Recording of Test results.

8) RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING (RT) : LEVEL – II

10) VISUAL INSPECTION (VT) LEVEL – I
Theory:

Practicals:
Use of Test Equipments, Inspection of Weldments, Forgings, etc. Recording of Test results.

11) VISUAL INSPECTION (VT) LEVEL – II
Theory:
ntroduction to Visual Testing, Fundamentals of Vision, Test Equipments such as mirrors, magnifiers, boroscopes, fiberscope, Processes and Discontinuities.
Practicals: Use of Test Equipments, Inspection of Welds, Forgings, etc Interpretation of Indications, Recording and Reporting of Test results.

12) EDDY CURRENT TESTING (ECT) LEVEL – I
Theory :
Basic principles of Eddy currents and electromagnetism, Flux Leakage Theory, Physical Properties of Metals, Instrumentation, Type of Coils, Applications of ECT.
Practicals: Conductivity Meter, Crack Detector, Metal sorter, Coating Thickness Gauge. Recording of Test results.

13) ELECTROMAGNETIC TESTING (ECT) LEVEL – II

Practicals:
use of welding gauge, profile gauge, micrometer, vernier, demonstration of NDT of welds by various methods. interpretaton of weld radiograph.

15) NDT FOR MANAGERS :
Theory: NDT – Definition & Philosophy, Fitness for Purpose Concept, Theory, Application and Limitations of Various NDT Techniques, Importance of Training & Certification, Costing.
