B.Tech or BCA/MCA both are different with each other as B. Tech is Engineering field which is specially meant for the science students but BCA/MCA is meant for commerce & science streams.

Both are very good & have a lot of scope in the next few years. Now you have to make a choice between them

Being an engineering student, I feel that engineering are such fields whose demand would be always there till the end, irrespective of recessions or global changing phenomena throughout the world. But it is Just my opinion.

Whatever be the field, if you have talent and technically sound, then whatever you take, it would be the best one irrespective of the situations around you. So choose that field in which you are interested

According to online survey, I think B.Tech is much better option between BCA/MCA and B.Tech as it provides more flexibility to you in your career. So here I am providing you the career options after B.Tech degree.

Career options after Engineering degree

1. Campus Placement
It is the important to get a job from campus itself. In college there will you find more opportunity to be placed in good company rather than off campus placement.

2. Go for an M.Tech degree
If you want to go for further studies, then M.Tech is a good option. You can opt one specialization field for it. For this, you need to prepare well for the entrance exams to get into a good college. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national exam conducted in India.

3. Go for Management course(MBA)
If you want to make a career in the management sector, hold managerial positions, then MBA is the right choice. You may specialize in your area of interest fields like HR, Marketing, finance, etc.

4. Prepare for Civil Services
It is another very good option after B.Tech. if you want to do job in some reputed govt. job like IES, IPS, IAS then preparation of civil service is good for you.

5. Short Term Courses
There are various short term courses and diploma courses you can opt for after your B.Tech. It can be a certificate course in embedded technology, VLSI, robotics, ethical hacking, protocol testing, machine designing etc. or a diploma course in any specific domain.

6. Entrepreneurship-Start your venture
If you want to become an Entrepreneur then you can start your own business because something of your own is a great option.

7. Go Abroad
It is also a very good option to explore. If you choose to study abroad, you will get a lot of exposure and learning along with the education part. You might also be able to get a job at international locations.

8. Join the army
You can also join Army/Navy/Air Force or any other wing of the defense services. You can join as technical staff by applying through the University Entry Scheme (UES), or the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test).
