Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is a Government of India Society which was set up in 1960 by the Government of India. It functions as a centre for applied research in electrical power engineering assisting the electrical industry in product development and quality assurance.

Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) has its unit in Bhopal named - STDS

STDS has been accredited as a Testing Laboratory as per IS0 Guide 17025/EN45000 standards by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) under Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

STDS is also recognized by International Electro-Technical Committee, France under CB scheme (IECEE-CB) for testing of LV HRC fuses, MCBs, Fuse Switch Units, Contactors and Motor Starters.
