There are many Private or Aided Colleges & Institutes provides education in India. In order to check the recognition status of a University/College, you should refer to its official website and browse for letter of approvals available on the website. But, if you are not able to find any letter of approval, then refer to the official website of University Grant Commission or UGC to check whether the University/College is recognized by it or not. About AICTE Approval AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) provides an approval to the Colleges/Institutes/Universities that they are qualified to run it or not. It approves an Institute after justifying the building infrastructure, faculty members, faculty qualification & experience, Labs etc. When AICTE gives an approval letter to the college, they also provide an approval number in that letter by which one can check out either the college is registered or not. Every year AICTE provides an approval letter to the Colleges/Institutes/Universities for the same year having the validity of approval for 1 year. UGC (University Grant Commission) also provide a list of registered & unregistered Colleges/Institutes/Universities in India. So we can check the name of the college (in which you are admitting) in that list. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
