Admission Kit Kodai International School ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() KIS admission instructions The application process Parents who desire to enroll one or more children in Kodaikanal International School (KIS) should apply early in the preceding academic year and arrange to send the following documents for EACH child for whom an application is made: Fields in these Microsoft Word forms expand as you key in information. You can navigate between fields using the “Tab” key. 1. Application for admission: One form per family to be fully completed 2. Parent statement: One form to be completed for each applicant 3. Student statement: Each student applying for grades 4-12 should complete this form 4. References for applicant: Three references are required for each applicant from: 1. Principal or Guidance Counselor of the student’s present school 2. Teacher who is currently teaching the student 3. Another subject teacher presently teaching the student, or student’s religious education teacher or youth leader 5. Scholastic record: An official report of scholastic achievement for the last three years of attendance in school must be included. This form is to be completed, and emailed to admissions@kis.in DIRECTLY by the school. This form is not necessary for a student coming from an American or an International School, but in such cases the school must be requested to email the following DIRECTLY to admissions@kis.in: 1. The student’s official transcript or school reports to parents for the past three years 2. Recent standardized test results 4. Passport or birth certificate - A copy and the original passport or birth certificate must be brought to interview, or if no interview, emailed to admissions@kis.in as CLEAR attachments. Print and mail your application to: The Admissions Coordinator, Kodaikanal International School Seven Roads Junction PO Box 25 Kodaikanal 624 101 Tamil Nadu, India Useful information ALL of the above documents for a prospective student must be received by KIS Admissions office before the application for admission will be processed. All candidates living in SARC countries must arrange an appointment for a test and interview any Monday through Friday. For other candidates, a test and an interview are advantageous but not mandatory. Admissions inquiries may begin in August of the preceding year of enrollment. Applications which are incomplete or unsatisfactory in any way may result in delay. When all the papers required in support of the application for a child have been received, they will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Decisions are made as applications are completed. KIS reserves the right to make changes in grade placement when deemed necessary. KIS reserves the right to refuse any candidate without giving its reasons for such action. The Management also reserves the right to ask a student to leave at any time at the sole discretion of the Principal. All new students are placed on “new student probation” which may be continued for up to one year. The student’s record of behavior (and scholarship when relevant) is reviewed periodically and any student whose record is unacceptable may be advised to make other arrangements for continuing his or her education. Satisfactory completion of probation means acceptance in full standing. Parents will be advised by interim reports, as well as by regular quarterly reports, during the probationary period. Note: KIS has a full time doctor and four registered nurses on staff who are available to students during semester time of each academic year. KIS has access to two local hospitals. The cost of the KIS doctor’s consultation and nursing care in the school dispensary will be covered within the annual school fee as charged to parents. Additional costs (x-rays, laboratory tests, medicines, transportation, hospitalization, specialist care etc.) will be charged to the student as and when required. KIS is able to arrange medical cover on the family’s request.
