IIT or Indian Institutes of Technology Madras provides opportunity to students for a scholarship to scholars admitted to Ph.D. programmes under regular scheme (fulltime) are eligible to apply for the 2015 research programme.

The assistance will be given in the following manner:
In engineering and management for those with Master's Degree in Engineering
Rs 18,000 pm for first two years and Rs 20,000 pm for next two years

In engineering for those admitted directly with B.E/B.Tech degrees with GATE/NET
Rs 16,000 pm for first two years and Rs 18,000 pm for next three years

In Sciences/Humanities & Social Sciences Management
Rs 16,000 pm for first two years & Rs 18,000 pm for next three years

Eligibility:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in eligible discipline concerning the Ph. D applied for with a good academic record.

A valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR NET/NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area acceptable for the year of registration

Selection Procedure:
Interested candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria are called for an interview or test as per the decision of the selection committee.

Candidates can apply online by filling the form in the prescribed manner.
An application fee is Rs 200 online and Rs 100 for SC/ST/physically challenged & women candidates (non-refundable).
