Join NASA as an Astronaut after 12th

I am in 12th class and I want to join NASA as an astronaut so I want to get the details of that so can you please make it available for me?

To be an astronaut you have to do specialized course in aeronautical /aerospace engineering at an advanced level. So after 12th go for the B.Tech in aeronautical /aerospace engineering.

Following are the basic requirement for astronaut Application in NASA.

Applicants passed Bachelor's degree in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics from recognized institute. An advanced degree is desirable. Quality of academic preparation is necessary.

Applicants should have at least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable.

Applicant has Ability to pass a NASA space physical which is similar to a military or civilian flight physical and includes the following specific standards:

Distant visual acuity: 20/100 or better uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 each eye.
Blood pressure: 140/90 measured in a sitting position.
Height between 62 and 75 inches.

Citizenship Requirements

Candidate for the Astronaut Program must be citizens of the United States, applicants with valid U.S. dual-citizenship are also eligible.

Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in biological science, engineering, mathematics or physical science from a recognized university. They then need to obtain any one of the following degrees from renowned institutes like IISC or IIT.

Candidates can go for:

PhD (Astrophysics).
PhD (Geophysics).
PhD (Metaphysics).

After graduation, the candidates can appear for the entrance exam which is held by the NASA for the recruitment of Scientists, Astronauts etc. Candidates can also find employment in ISRO. There are many openings in ISRO which is conducted for the recruitment of Scientists and Engineers. In order to join the ISRO, the candidates need to clear the Joint Entrance Exam set by the IIT’s.
