As you want to get the details of eligibility criteria of Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test for the working professionals so here is the information of the same for you:

TANCET 2014 Eligibility Criteria:
M.E. / M.Tech:
Candidates must have passed B.E. / B.Tech. in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% (45% in case of SC/ST)

Or

Candidates must have passed certificates of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech.

Or

Candidates must have been Degree holders only with 2 Years regular full time experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work.

An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidates with the following qualifications:
10+2+AMIE
(or)
10+3 Years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.

Industrial experience for AMIE candidates:
10 + 2 years H.Sc. + AMIE (with 2 years experience)
10 + 3 Years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE (with 2 years experience)

The following categories are ineligible:
Candidates with B.E./B.Tech degrees in Distance mode/Week end courses
Candidates with degree obtained without studying 10+2 or 3 years diploma and 3/4 years degree programme

TANCET 2014 Exam Pattern:
The question paper comprises of three parts
Part 1 & 2 are compulsory while Part 3 will be on the respective chosen discipline/subject
Part 1 (compulsory): 30 questions with 1 mark for each correct answer
Part 2(Compulsory): 30 questions with 1 mark for each correct answer
Part 3: Candidates must choose a choice of a section out of 14 based on area of specialization and answer 40 Questions with 1 mark for each correct answer
Note: Negative marking of 1/4 for every wrong answer

TANCET 2014 Application Fees:

The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 500 (Rs 250 for SC/SCA/ST candidates)

Anna University, Chennai conducts the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test – TANCET on the behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu into MBA, MCA and ME / M.Tech / M.Arch. / M.Plan courses.

Yes, you can apply for M Tech course through Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test – TANCET if you fulfill the below given criteria:

TANCET Eligibility Criteria


Any one of these degrees:-B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree, B.Pharm / B.Sc. (Agri./ Forestry/ Horticulture/ Fishery) degree programme, Master Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.

Certificate holders and other similar certificate holders of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) accepted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India is considered to be corresponding to B.E./B.Tech. Degree programme with 2 years industrial experience in the related field after completion of the course.

The candidate has to arrange to provide an experience certificate.

Applicant must hold Bachelor degree with 50% of marks for General category.
This score is set at 45% of marks for applicants from the reserved category.

TANCET Exam Pattern

Exam has 100 questions split onto 5 parts and has to be answered in a span of 2 hours. Each question has 5 answer options.
Each correct answer fetches 1 mark while every incorrect answer results in 1/3rdof a mark being deducted as a penalty.
Various shadings are considered an improper answer and marks deducted accordingly.
Topics for evaluation will be Business situation analysis, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative section, Data Sufficiency and Verbal ability.

TANCET Admission Process

• GATE Category: Those having a binding GATE score with qualifying marks for Assistant-ship in appropriate discipline of Engineering
• Those who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistant-ship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers should appear For TANCET
• TANCET Category: Those who have valid TANCET scores.
• Sponsored Candidates: A limited number of seats are available for those working by Govt. organizations, Government aided learning institutes and registered professional architects with minimum of 5 year experience
