I'm studying in class 12 right now. I'm an Only Girl child. I couldn't apply for the Indira Gandhi scholarship last year. Can I apply this year?? Please provide me the link to the application form. am I too late?? UGC has introduced a postgraduate Indira Gandhi scholarship for single girl child with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education. Applicants who are single girl child and eligible can apply to for this scholarship. Scholarship Details: The value of scholarship amount is Rs. 2, 000/- p.m for a period of 10 months in the year for two years only i.e. full duration of a PG program. Eligibility Criteria: Any single girl child who happens to be an only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter in the family Class XII with minimum 426 in Science or 412 in Commerce, or in 351 in other subjects. Family income should not exceed Rs. 6,00,000 per annum. Individuals above 21 years of age Candidate has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year master's degree course. This scholarship is available to PG-I year students only. How to Apply: Candidates can apply online on the official website. Required Documents: An affidavit on Rs. 50/ Stamp paper, from the student/parent duly attested by SDM/First Class Magistrate/Gazatted Officer. Indira Gandhi Scholarship award is for girl who is lonely child of her parents and pursuing PG course. Right now you are in class 12th that why you cant apply for this Scholarship award. after complete Graduation you can online apply for Indira Gandhi Scholarship award. it is held once I a year so if you miss chance once time than you have to wait for next year to apply for this award. Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child is a UGC system launched with the goal of empowering women in our country through educational methods. Eligibility for Indira Gandhi Scholarship: Girl students without having any brother or the girl student who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughters may also apply for scholarship under the aforesaid scheme. In a family, if one son and one daughter are available then the girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme. Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in a regular, full-time first-year Masters Degree course in any designated university or a post-graduate college. This scholarship is available to PG-I year students only. Admission to PG Course in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme. Awards For a period of 2 years, i.e. 10 months per year, the chosen female learners obtain a scholarship quantity of Rs. 3100 per month covering the complete length of the postgraduate curriculum to be followed by the applicants. The prize is disbursed to learners from the moment they join the 1st year of PG class through the UGC assigned authority. Also, the reward winners must send a record of their notification of honor and accompanying study to the specified authority along with the picture, email, and reference information. List of Documents To Be Submitted The candidate is required to submit an application prescribed format; Proof of admission to Ist Year Master’s degree course in a recognized Indian University covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. An affidavit on Rs.50/- Stamp paper from the student/ parent duly attested by SDM/ First Class Magistrate/ Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of Tahsildar) copying the prescribed languages. A certificate from the College/ University where a student has taken admission to first-year PG Course in the current academic year.
