GSEB, CBSE or ICSE boards are separated by different level and government. Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board is a state level board of education for Gujarat state .. but Central board of secondary education and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education board are central board for schools in India .. Off-course CBSE and ICSE is a better board when compared with GSEB because these are Central boards that provides quite advanced and tough knowledge .. If you prefer to for Gujarati language to be studied by your child and so you have to go for GSEB board…/ The syllabus for CBSE is more suitable for qualifying various entrance exam exam for admission in medical and engineering entrance exams … but ICSE is more detailed and need lot of extra hard work...

Our daughter is in State Board in mumbai in Grade 2. We are thinking of moving her to CBSE or ICSE. We have shortlisted two schools: - EuroSchool Thane. It is a ICSE school but very far away from our home. One way it is 12.5 kms (1 hour travel) and school timings are very long i.e. around 7 hours. - NHSS Airoli. It is a CBSE school but it starts in April 1st week. Travel time is 30 mins and school timings are normal i.e. around 5.5 hours. Problem right now is that she does not have Hindi in State Board and above 2 schools have started Hindi in 1st Grade. So we are not sure how we can cover up 2 years of Hindi Syllabus in 1 month of vacation time. Also we have heard ICSE syllabus is too vast after 6th. My daughter is a average and very slow learner so we have a concern whether moving to CBSE/ICSE is a good idea. Other alternative is to continue with State Board and take up additional activities. Please advice. |
