The eligibility for the Union public service commission civil exam is: Nationality: The candidate should be Indian, or Napoleon or form Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee or a person of India who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Age Limits: The age of the candidate must have less than 21 years and must not more than 30 years. Number of attempts: Every candidate is allowed to attempt the Civil Services Exam only four times. Educational Qualification: The candidate should have a bachelor degree of any recognized university.

Union Public Service Commission conducts many examinations every year for different departments, posts etc. These exams are conducted under the central government and depending upon the department. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: The candidates should be the citizens of India for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service. Age limit: Minimum: 21 years Maximum: 32 years Educational qualification: Degree from any Act of the Central or state university or other educational institutions Number of attempts: The candidates can apply to a maximum of six times. The candidates belonging to OBC category can apply for a total of nine times. This restriction on the number of attempts will not apply in case of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates.

Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) conducts UPSC Prelims and Mains examination for recruitment to IAS, IPS, IFS Group 'A' and some Group 'B' services. Eligibility Nationality For Indian Administrative Service, a candidate should be a citizen of India. For Indian Foreign Service and other services, a candidate should be one of the following: A citizen of India A subject of Nepal or Bhutan A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01/01/1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India A person of Indian origin who has migrated from other countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (detailed list of countries available on official website) Provided that a candidate belonging to above mentioned categories is a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Indian government. Age Limit A candidate must be minimum 21 years of age and maximum 31 years of age The upper age limit is relaxed up to a maximum of : Category Age Relaxation (years) SC / ST 5 OBC 3 Defense Services personnel 3 Domiciled in J&K during the period 01/01/1980 - 31/12/1989 5 Educational Qualification A candidate must be a Graduate from a recognized university or a deemed university. A candidate who has appeared for the final year of bachelor degree and awaiting result, and candidates who are appearing at such qualifying exams can also apply, provided that they submit their proof of qualification along with the application for the Mains exam. A candidate who possesses professional and technical qualification recognized by Government equivalent to the professional and technical degree can also apply. A candidate who has passed the final professional M.B.B.S. or any other Medical Examination but has not completed internship by the time of submission of application for the Civil Services (Main) Examination can also apply.
