Institute of Chartered Accountant of India was established on 1 July 1949. it is the only licensing cum regulating body of the financial audit and accountancy profession in India. it offers following courses:

SYLLABUS
One Paper, Two Sessions 200 Marks
Session I:
Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting 60 Marks
Section B: Mercantile Laws 40 Marks

Session II:
Section C: General Economics 50 Marks
Section D: Quantitative Aptitude 50 Marks

Common Proficiency Test (CPT)
(One paper – Four hours – 200 Marks)

Level of Knowledge: Basic knowledge
SESSION – I
(Two Sections– Two hours – 100 Marks)

Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 Marks )

I have done my 12th with Commerce stream and want to do CA course for this I want all details about the CA Exam Courses. Will you please provide me details about CPT and IPCC both group exam and also provide me lists of subject there in CA CPT and IPCC?

CPT is entry Level Examination for CA course
CPT Contains 4 Papers
CPT is objective type examination requiring student to answer 200 Multiple Choice questions (it is similar to MH-CET examination, conducted for Engineering and Medical Profession)
CPT Examination is now conducted two times a year, in June and December only

Subjects and pattern of Exam:

Session – I (10.30 AM to 12.30 PM)

Sections Subjects Marks

Section A Fundamentals of Accounting 60

Section B Mercantile Laws 40

Session – II (2 PM to 4 PM)
Section C General Economics 50

Section D Quantitative Aptitude 50

Total 200


IPCC or Integrated Professional Competence Course is the second level of Chartered Accountancy examinations. You can take the IPCC Examination after passing CPT and nine months of study. IPCC has two groups of seven subjects. Group – I consists of four subjects and Group – II of three subjects.

Group I:

Paper 1: Accounting
Paper 2: Business Laws, Ethics and Communication
Paper 3: Cost Accounting and Financial Management
Paper 4: Taxation

Group II:

Paper 5: Advanced Accounting
Paper 6: Auditing and Assurance
Paper 7: Information Technology and Strategic Management

If you have passed both the groups of IPCC, during the last six months of article ship can take the Final Examination. This exam consists of two groups of four subjects each.

Group I:

Paper 1: Financial Reporting,
Paper 2: Strategic Financial Management,
Paper 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics,
Paper 4: Corporate and Allied Laws,

Group II:

Paper 5: Advanced Management Accounting,
Paper 6: Information Systems Control and Audit,
Paper 7: Direct Tax Laws
Paper 8: Indirect Tax Laws.
