Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is a leading agency for investigation which comes under the control of the Indian Government. To join the CBI you have to appear in SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination after completion of your graduation. Following are the eligibility details of it:

Eligibility for CBI:
Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognized university.

Age criteria:
Minimum 21 years of age.
The maximum age allowed is 27 years.
Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
5 years for SC/ST Candidates.
3 years for OBC candidates.

Physical Requirements:
HEIGHT: For Male-165 cms.
For Female-150 cms.
CHEST: MALE- 76 cms.
No such requirement for females.
Good Eye Sight.

Exam Pattern:
The exam pattern is as follows.
1.Preliminary Examination.
2.Main Examination.

Preliminary examination will have questions under following categories:
English Comprehension
Numerical Aptitude
General Awareness
General Intelligence and reasoning ability

Main examination will have questions to test following areas:
Arithmetic ability
Statistics
English comprehension skills

CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) is the main investigation agency of India. It handles and investigates complex and intricate cases which are referred to it by the state investigative agencies or governments.

To be an ASI in Central Bureau of Investigation you have to undergo a selection process of written and oral exams conducted by Staff Selection Commission.

Eligibility to be an ASI in CBI:

Educational Qualification:
Candidates should hold a Bachelor of any stream.

Age Limit:
Candidate must have attained the age of 20 years on 1st July of the year of examination and must not have attained 27 years of age on that date.

Age Relaxation:
Upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


Physical Requirements:

a. Height:
i. For men -165cms.
ii. For women -150cms
Height relax able for Hillsmen and Tribals: 5cms

b. Chest:
76cms. with expansion (There shall be no such requirement in case of female candidates)

c.Vision:
Eye-Sight (with or without glasses)
Distant Vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in other eye.
Near Vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye


Procedure to become ASI in CBI:

Step 1:
Aspirant has to procure the “Application Form” along with required information from the employment newspaper generally published in the month of April and then sent the filled Application form to the regional centers as mentioned.

Preliminary Examination

Part A
1. General Intelligence and General Awareness
No. Of Question: 100
Marks: 100
Time: 2 Hrs

Part B
2. Arithmetic
No. Of Question: 100
Marks: 100
Time: 2 Hrs

Step 3:
Main Examination

General Studies
Max. Marks: 100 Marks
Duration: 3Hr

English
Max. Marks: 100 Marks
Duration: 2Hr. 20 Min

Arithmetic
Max. Marks: 200 Marks
Duration: 4Hr

Language
Max. Marks: 100 Marks
Duration: 2Hr. 20 Min

Communication Skill and writing
Max. Marks: 200 Marks
Duration: 2Hr. 20 Min
