I am student of final year B.TECH and want to give TNPSC Group-I exam .Am i eligible for the TNPSC exam? Yes, a B.TECH. Final Year Student Eligible for TNPSC Group-I Exam. Eligibility criteria: Qualification: Candidates should possess degree of any of the recognized University. Candidates who are in the final year degree examination, may also eligible to apply for the Preliminary Examination . Degree Preference as: For Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category I) A Degree or Diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science and also to those who possess National Awards for Physical Efficiency. For Assistant Commissioner (C.T.) First Preference _ A Degree both in Commerce and Law together with a Diploma in Taxation laws. Second Preference _ A Degree both in Commerce and Law. Third Preference _ A Degree either in Commerce or Law together with a Diploma in Taxation laws. Fourth Preference _ A Degree either in Commerce or Law. Assistant Director of Rural Development Department i) Post Graduate Degree in Rural Service of the Gandhigram Rural Institute, Madurai District. ii) Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Extension. iii) Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Sociology Age Limit: ![]() TNPSC Group 1 Syllabus : Preliminary Exam Syllabus: General Knowledge: The paper on general knowledge will include questions covering the following fields of knowledge: General science, current events of national and international importance , history and culture of India, geography, Indian polity, Indian economy, Indian national movement and freedom struggle, mental ability tests and other related fields. Main Written Examination: Paper-I: 1. Modern history of India and Indian culture. 2. General Aptitude & Mental ability Test. 3. Role and impact of science and technology in the development of India and Tamil Nadu. Paper-II: 1. Indian polity and emerging political trends across the world affecting India and Geography of India. 2. Tamil Society, its culture and heritage/ English language skills. 3. Administration of Union and states with special reference to Tamil Nadu. Paper-III: 1. Current events of national and international importance. 2. Yes , definitely you are eligible to appear in the TNPSC Group-I exam. Tamil Nadu Public Service (TNPSC)has issued the notification of recruitment for various posts included in Group-I Services. TNPSC Group 1 exam conducts for the following posts: Deputy Collector : 03 posts Deputy Superintendent of Police : 33 posts (Post Code: 1002) Assistant Commissioner : 33 posts (Post Code: 1003) Assistant Director of Rural Development Department : 10 posts Eligibility Criteria: Candidates age should be between 21 and 36 yrs. Relaxation will be offered to candidates. Candidates must have a Degree from any recognized University / Institutions. Candidates who are in final year can also apply for preliminary exam but they need to produce their qualifying examination while appearing for Main Exam.
