AFCAT is conducted by the Indian Air Force for the selection of officers in the three major branches given below:
i. Flying branch
ii. Technical branch and
iii. Ground Duty branch.

After qualifying the AFCAT written test, there is an interview procedure comprises of various steps given below:-
Screening- Consist of verbal and non verbal test with group discussion.
Psychological testing- Consist of SRT, sentence making and story writing.
Indoor tasks- consist of group planning exercises and group discussion.
Outdoor task- consist of full group task, half group task, individual obstacles, final group task and command task

Personal interview- consist of various questions.
Few of them are given below:-
About family background?
Why you want to join Defence ?
About your strength and weaknesses?
About you education background?
General question related to recent issues.
Technical Questions.
History of your city.

1. Tell me something about yourself.

2. Who is your best friend and why is he your best friend?

3. Give me an instance where he was helpful.

4. Whom do you approach in family when you face any problem?

5. Tell me something about your home town.

6. Why do you want to join the force?

7. What if you get recommended?

8. What if you don’t get recommended?

9. Who was the first field marshal in Indian Army?

10. Which planet has maximum number of moons / satellite?

Interview Tips

It’s a simple interview, so no need to worry much and become nervous.

Stay calm, cool and confident.

Take an entry in the interview room with your head held high.

Don’t forget to greet the interviewer.

Never lie. Answer truly whatever is asked.
