Joint Admission Test or JAM is an all India Entrance Examination conducted by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and eleven Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for admission to various higher education programmes in the stream of Science. Eligibility: === Only applicants having graduate degree in any discipline from UGC Recognized University in SEP 2014 or before, are eligible to fill up application form. === Candidates who are willing to take admission into IISc Bangalore, must possess first class degree and for reserved category, it is 50% aggregate. And except it, they must have 55% and 50% for reserved category. === Candidates who are willing to take admission into IIT Guwahati, must possess 55% marks or 55% aggregate marks for 50% marks in Major / Honors and pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, or 50% aggregate marks for SC / ST and PD Category Candidates in the qualifying degree. == For all other IITs : At least 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, for Un – Reserved / OBC Category Candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, for SC / ST and PD Category Candidates in the qualifying degree. === For Candidates with letter grades / CGPA ( instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute( s ). Proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications( MEQ ) as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30th September, 2014. IIT JAM Exam Pattern: Type of Questions Weight ages Multiple Choice Type Questions(MCQ) 20% Fill-In-The-Blanks 30% Descriptive 50% Important Tentative Dates: Online Registration Process: 16th September, 2013 to 16th October, 2013.
